This Champion Embraces Innovative Auto Shop Software

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Lucas Underwood of L & N Performance Auto Repair in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. By facing the changes to the automotive repair industry head-on and with candor, Lucas has boosted his business but continuously inspires others and helps them thrive as well. One of his secrets lies in using innovative shop management software.

Meet Lucas Underwood

Lucas opened L & N Performance Auto Repair in 2008. While remaining focused on his shop’s success, he takes pride in serving as a strong leader – both to his team of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified personnel and to his community within the aftermarket.

As co-host to ASOG Podcast, Lucas lends a voice to the industry. You can catch him and fellow shop owner, David Roman, live every Monday delivering – what fans call – humorous, yet deeply informative and relevant content. Lucas also serves as a moderator to the Auto Shop Owners Group (ASOG) on Facebook. It offers shop owners a place to discuss and ask and offer advice on issues, such as auto shop software.

Lucas serves as a director with the Independent Garage Owners of North Carolina. As a result, he gets deeply involved with its associated training event, Automotive Service and Technology Expo. This is the largest aftermarket auto show in the south and it is happening this weekend, Sept. 25-26.

Lucas help organize the ASOG Scholarship Dinner on Friday night prior. This event will raise money to help struggling shop owners accelerate the growth of their businesses.

Lucas invests heavily in his own staff’s continued training on auto shop software. Likewise, he advocates for the automotive program at the high school near his shop. His work recently earned him an All-Star Award with Ratchet and Wrench magazine.

With leaders like Lucas contributing to building more pride and fresh talent in auto shops, the future looks bright indeed.
